The Celsius screw heat exchanger is an indirect heat exchanger based on a conveyor screw technology, used for cooling, heating and drying powders and granules. For equipment with indirect heat transfer, the heating or cooling medium is separated from the product by a wall.
There are countless applications, varying from cooling sand to drying starch. Heat transfer is carried out via the trough wall, screw shaft, screw blade or a through a combination of these. The material is cooled, heated or dried during transport.
The screw heat exchangers are produced in various sizes depending on process and spatial requirements. Variations in length and diameter and the construction materials used can be adapted the product requirements or customer wishes. Different thermal fluids are used to supply or remove energy, such as water, glycol, liquid nitrogen for cooling and water or thermal oil for heating.
