Thorwesten vent is an internationally-recognized company specializing in constructional explosion protection and manufacture of patented, self-closing explosion flaps.
The explosion venting devices are based on an air cushion principle. In the case of deflagration, the hinged lid opens rapidly and is stopped by the moving baffle plate. The air cushion dampens the transfer of the kinetic energy into the rigid parts of the explosion door. The hinged lid is pushed back into the original closed position. The explosion device remains undamaged and is ready for further use.
The products for explosion venting are Autonomous Protective Systems certified according to ATEX Directive 94/9/EG and 2014/34/EU respectively.
